# Halo

> Drag it. Tap Shift. Choose.

Halo saves the original of anything you drag on a web page: images, videos, frames and
transcripts. It can crop, trim, redact or clean it up first, too. You pick from a ring of
options that opens at your pointer.

Start dragging an image, a video or a link and a small **Shift** hint appears above it. Tap
Shift and the ring opens. Move toward what you want and let go. The file lands in
`Downloads/Halo`.

## What Halo doesn't do

* It doesn't download YouTube videos. YouTube doesn't allow it. On YouTube, Halo saves
  frames and transcripts instead.
* It doesn't touch protected (DRM) video.
* It doesn't send the pages you visit or the files you save anywhere. The editing tools and
most AI tools work on your device; only a cloud tool (marked ✦) sends the one picture, or
a video's sound, you chose it for. See [Privacy](https://withhalo.app/privacy).
